Ricardo “Richard” Gracia Rodriguez, devoted husband to his beloved wife Evarista Rodriguez, loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend peacefully passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at the age of 74. Born September 27th, in San Antonio, Texas, to parents Pablo Jorge Rodriguez and Florinda Gracia Rodriguez. Richard’s greatest pride was his family. He devoted his life to taking care of his wife and family unconditionally. His life was defined by his immense love for his wife Eva of 54 years and his family. He was a loving father to his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and instilled values of love, respect, integrity, and dedication.
Richard was a proud retired Veteran of the United States Airforce. He began an honored career serving eight years as a Jet Engine Mechanic stationed at Randolph Air Force Base. After serving the military, he continued a career as an Aircraft Mechanic and was promoted to an Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor in Civil Service at Kelly Air Force Base in San Antonio and at Tinker Air Force Base in Midwest City, Oklahoma. His years in both military and civil service created a strong foundation and shaped his character which contributed to his deep pride in service leading to retirement in 2007.
Richard found joy in the simple, meaningful moments that made his life beautiful and blessed. He loved working on his home and yard taking pride in every detail. He enjoyed barbecuing, hunting, fishing, listening to Tejano music, but most of all spending time with his family. He was the family handyman-always ready to fix everything for his family and friends. He loved spending time at the ranch, going on trips to the casino and visiting his son and grandchildren in Oklahoma.
Richard was a man who worked hard, who loved deeply and was always there for his family, siblings, nephews, nieces and friends without reservation. He was a strong, positive and respected man who led by example and whom many looked up to. His presence brought comfort, his advice brought clarity and his endless love brought strength. His legacy lives on in the values he instilled, the memories he created and the many lives that he influenced.
