

He devoted his life to service as a non-profit advisor and expert independently and through the Nonprofit Resource Center of Texas, the United Way of El Paso County, and the United Way of San Antonio & Bexar County. He was a Board Member for Healthy Futures of Texas and the American Civil Liberties Union and was Interim Director for the ACLU of Texas. He served with the U.S. Foreign Service in Bolivia, Greece, and Vietnam, and graduated from Central Catholic High School (1958) and Texas A & M University (1962) with a B.A. in History and Government.
He is survived by sons, Christopher and Marc; siblings, Rodolfo (Elvira), Marina (Raul), and John (Melody); six nieces and nephews; and former spouse, Hanh Alvarado.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 25, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Porter Loring on McCullough.
