

Rich Burton, 53, of Chicago, IL passed away in San Antonio, TX on January 4th, 2017. He was born in Chicago, Illinois but grew up in Chicago Ridge, Illinois. Graduating from Harold L. Richards H. S. in 1982, Rich continued his education at Moraine Valley with a concentration in Business, Computers and National Carpentry. He also completed technical studies of Heating and Cooling systems.He was married to Glenda since May 2012. He worked at Illinois Central School Bus in Blue Island, IL for over 10 years, where he managed and coordinated school bus safety protocols. Rich was very dedicated to transporting children safely. He and his family found a new beginning in San Antonio, Texas where he started a new career with Jimmy Johns. Rich was a die-hard Chicago Blackhawks and Chicago White Sox fan but celebrated any Chicago team victory like the 2016 Chicago Cubs World Series win. In addition, he was passionate about motorcycles. Rich had a very special relationship with his American bulldog, Tyson, for over 13 years. Tyson was a very important part of Rich’s life.He is survived by his wife: Glenda, his step children: April, Jose, and Alex, his parents: Elizabeth June Bennett and Harold Phillip Burton and his siblings: Sidney, David, Phillip, Kenneth, Harry Burton. Visitation will be held at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, TX from 5:00 pm and 9:00 pm on January 8, 2017.
