He was born September 29th, 1945 to Sherry Little Lackritz and Robert Lackritz in Manhattan. He graduated from Scarsdale High School and Ohio Wesleyan University.
Dr. Lackritz obtained his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center and a fellowship in endocrinology at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston.He practiced obstetrics, gynecology, and reproductive endocrinology in San Antonio for 30 years, specializing in infertility.
Dr. Lackritz was a pre-eminent Sherlockian, with a library that was regarded as one of the most comprehensive collections of detective fiction in the world.
He was a member of Temple Beth-El, the Maimonides Society of San Antonio, the Baker Street Irregulars, MENSA, and the SACC.
He is survived by his children, Jed and Martha who recognized him as one of the last century's under-appreciated comic geniuses; loving partner, Mary Kubany; brothers, Don and Jay; dear friend and nurse of 26 years, Gracie Hernandez; and friend and former wife, Judy Lackritz.
