Richard L. Post, Jr.

Richard "Dick" L. Post, Jr. passed away on Friday, November 9, 2012 at the age of 83. Richard was born on February 2, 1929 in San Antonio to Dick and Margaret Johnson Post.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Lorna White Post.

Richard received his primary and high school education in San Antonio. After graduation from Brackenridge High School in 1947 he attended SMU on a band scholarship and graduated from Journalism School in 1951. Dick worked for several years on Texas newspapers and in radio broadcasting until joining General Telephone and Electronics, working in public relations mostly in Erie, PA. He was with the company until he took early retirement in 1984 and came back to his hometown to open a travel agency, which he operated for 10 years.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. Richard was active in the Oak Hills Rotary Club and SKAL International Travel Club. He was a class representative for The Brackenridge Alumni Group. Besides traveling he was always very interested in music and in his later years had taken an avid interest in ballroom dancing.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia; sons, Stephen of Atlanta, and David and his wife, Susan of Dallas; daughters, Susan Post of Philadelphia and Camille Downing and husband Joseph of Pittsburgh, along with grandchildren, Sarah and Hannah Post and Sierra and Alexander Downing.

Visitation will be held Monday, November 12, 2012, beginning at 9:00 A.M.
