Richard Lee Reynolds passed peacefully on April 29, 2026, at the age of 89. Born on October 18, 1936, in Ogden, Utah, Rick was the son of Charles Lee and Ethel Smith Reynolds. He spent his early years in Ogden and Salt Lake City then moved with his mother to San Antonio where he graduated from Alamo Heights High School. He went on to the University of Texas and made lifelong friends as a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon.
Life took him in many directions. He spent college summers in the oil fields for Phillips Petroleum, engaged in industrial chemical sales with Thompson Hayward Chemicals and explored entrepreneurial ventures into the international food import business with both Frontier and Rico foods, but his true calling was in the securities industry. He received his early training with Bache & Co. in New York and later at the New York Institute of Finance. He became an allied member of the New York Stock Exchange and a vice president and partner in the brokerage firm of Dewar, Robertson and Pancoast, who later merged with Hornblower, Weeks, Hemphill & Noyes. He joined Schneider Bernet Hickman in 1980 then moved to the Broadway Bank in 1983 to help start its newly formed Broadway Brokerage Services. He retired as Manager and President of BBS and Vice-President of the bank in July of 1996.
He was predeceased by both parents, his son Richard Lee, Jr; his sister, Darlene; and nephew, Skip.
He is survived by his wife, Sherry; his daughter Lynn Dunlap (Fielding); inherited daughter, Shaine Morris (Brandon); grandchildren: Reece Dunlap (Katie) Drake Dunlap (Kendall), Taryn, Devin, and Dean Morris and 3 great grandchildren. He is also survived by niece, Debra Fuhrmann; nephews Hop (Martha) and Rusty (Jane) Fuhrmann and their families.
We wish to thank 3 angels in our lives who saved his in 2016 and were always there to help: Janet Graham, Mari Herrera and Diane Herrera.
A celebration of Richard‘s life will be held on a later date.
