
COL Robert Tracy Anderson, Jr., MD, Ph.D., US Army Retired, age 53, passed away on Monday, August 6, 2001, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 20, 1947, in Woodland, CA. He is survived by his parents, Robert and Shirley Anderson; his wife of 22 years, Judith Wearne Anderson; daughter, Alissa Marie; son, Evan David; brothers, John and his wife Kathleen, and Donald and his wife Sue; sisters, Anne, and Linda Silver and her husband Craig; and numerous nieces and nephews. Dr. Anderson earned his bachelor's degree in Chemistry from the University of California at Davis, his Ph.D. in Bio-Organic Chemistry from the University of California at Santa Barbara and his MD from George Washington University, Washington, DC. Prior to medical school, Dr. Anderson served as a chemist in the United States Army Medical Service Corps, then as a pediatrician in the Medical Corps, specializing in child neurology until his retirement in 1999. He served at Walter Reed Army Center, Washington DC, Landstuhl Army Medical Center in Germany, Brooke Army Medical Center at Fort Sam Houston, Texas, and Wilford Hall Air Force Medical Center, in San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Anderson was a loving and devoted husband and father who fully enjoyed his family and friends, his work, and his church. He was an assistant scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 346, sang in the church choir, loved his garden and never turned down a chance to play golf. Dr. Anderson will be remembered for his kind and loving dedication to the care and welfare of his patients and their families.
