LTC Robert E. Bingham, U. S. Army (ret.), age 79, went to be with the Lord on December 18, 2012. He was born on February 4, 1933 in Ft. Worth, TX. Bob was a graduate of Brackenridge High School in 1950 and St. Mary’s University in 1954. He later served in the U. S. Army Artillery 82nd Airborne with tours in Korea twice and Vietnam. After military retirement, Bob taught ROTC at McCollum High School and was responsible for maintaining the alumnae data base for the Brackenridge High School Alumnae Association for 20 years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be greatly missed.
Bob is survived by his wife of 53 years, Frances Bingham; daughter, Charlotte Bingham; son, Robert M. Bingham; son-in-law, Bruce Whittlesey; and grandchildren, Sam & William Whittlesey.
There will be a private family burial at a later date at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery. Condolences may be offered at www.sunsetfuneralhomesa.com.
