Robert Kennedy Downey

LtCol. Robert K. “Bookie” Downey USAF (Ret.), known as “Bob” to family and friends, passed away at the age of 66 on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, in San Antonio, Texas. Bob was born to his parents Elaine (Kennedy) and William Foster Downey on February 20, 1957, in Wilmington, Delaware. He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Kathy La Faschia, William Foster Downey Jr., and Brian Downey. Bob is survived by his fiancé, Jennifer Young; children, Tara Downey, Robert K Downey, Jr and wife Jennifer, Chase H. Downey and partner, Chelsea Deane, Liza Mertz and husband Jake Mertz, Allie Evans and wife Shaye Evans; siblings, Karen Stoppel, Blair Downey, Robin Satterly, and Michael Downey; grandchildren, Daxton Ryker, Ashton King, Logan Deckard, and Emma Louise; and numerous other extended family members, colleagues, and friends. The family will receive guests for a Visitation from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, September 25, 2023, at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
