

Robert (Bob) was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers James Egger and Thomas Egger, and granddaughter Kaitlyn Egger. He is survived by his beloved bride of 64 years, Anna Egger; sons Mark Egger and wife Diane and Mike Egger and wife Karri; grandchildren Brianna Quijano, Kathryn Egger, Kaylee Egger, Riley Egger and Samuel Egger; great-grandchildren Isabel Quijano, Christopher Garza and Lilyanna Garza, brother William Egger, as well as numerous other family members and dear friends.
He served in the United States Air Force and retired after 30 years of active duty service as a Chief Master Sargent. He then served an additional 19 years in the Civil Service, retiring as a GS-14 with the title Security Chief of the Air Intelligence Agency. His service included tours during the Korean and Vietnam wars, and was awarded the Bronze Star for his service.
He received his Bachelor’s Degree from Southwest Texas State University. He earned his Master’s Degree from Webster University.
He volunteered at Security Service Federal Credit Union for almost 40 years, ultimately serving 8 terms as the Chairman of the Board. He was involved in the national credit union movement, and once name Volunteer of the Year. He held leadership positions on numerous local and national service organizations.
He loved to travel around this country and the world with family and friends. Along side with his wife, he went on 37 cruises around the world. He was an avid sports fan, and had season tickets to his beloved San Antonio Spurs for over 30 years. He loved to play golf, and especially looked forward to the annual Father’s Day golf outing with his sons and brother. He loved sharing Texas history doing puppet shows at the Institute of Texas Cultures.
His greatest love was his family. Along with his bride of 64 years, Anna, they were involved with and had an impact on 6 generations of family on both his and Anna’s side of the family. They always had an open-door policy to family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 8:00p.m., on Friday, September 30, 2022, at Porter Loring Mortuary WEST.

Rev. David Archibald will officiate. Graveside Services, with full military honors, will take place privately at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery October 6, 2022.
