

Robert Cohn Bob Marx, age 87, a resident of Morningside Manor, and former resident of Houston and Conroe, Texas, died on March 13, 2004. He was born in Detroit, Michigan October 12, 1916, and graduated from Brackenridge High School, San Antonio.
He served in the Army Air Corps at Keesler Field, Biloxi, Mississippi, in WWII. He was a highly respected member of the furniture industry representing manufacturers to retailers throughout South Texas for thirty years. After he retired in 1975 from the furniture industry, he developed Twin Shores on Lake Conroe.
An avid sportsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and the Houston Oilers. His passion was golf and he served as President of the Panorama Golf Club in Conroe, Texas.
His first wife and mother of his children, Yvonne Varnau Marx, died in 1968. He is survived by his wife of 30 years Florence Pullen Marx of San Antonio with whom he traveled the world; his daughters, Joann Knowles, the Bronx, NY, Barbara Anne Stephens and her husband, Kenneth of San Antonio; his grandchildren, Jennifer Hurley and her husband Sean of Nashville, TN, Robert Stephens and his wife Shay, of San Antonio, and Thomas Stephens and his wife Cory of San Antonio; and four great-grandchildren, Julia Melissa Hurley, Sarah Jean Stephens, Henry August Stephens, and Wayland Marx Stephens; his step-son Robert Jorrie of San Antonio and his step-daughter Marilyn Jorrie of Bolder, CO, and their families.
