

Robert V. “Bubba” Musquiz Sr., a beloved member of the San Antonio community, passed away on May 4, 2024, at the age of 95. Born on March 13, 1929, in San Antonio, Texas to Onofre Leal Musquiz and Elvira Villarreal Musquiz, he leaves behind a legacy of service and warmth.
Bubba proudly served in the Army and later became a pillar in his community as a Scout Master for boy scout Troop 468. Every Veterans Day, he showed his appreciation by making borracho beans for Legacy Vets, embodying his caring and generous spirit.
Robert embraced life with a fun-loving attitude and a warm heart that touched all who knew him. His dedication to his faith was evident in his attendance at La Trinidad United Methodist Church where he also sang in the choir. He shared a passion for rock concerts with his late wife, Aurora.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Aurora (Valfre) Musquiz, sisters Stella Ramirez, Adela Guajardo, and brother Camillo Musquiz.
Bubba is survived by his loving children: Jo Ann Martinez and her husband Julian; Sandra Lee and her husband Christopher Sprague; Robert “Bobby” Musquiz Jr. and girlfriend Lupe Ortiz; Martha M. Salinas (David); and Deborah Maloney and her husband, Mark. His grandchildren: Eric Musquiz, Julie Ann Salinas (Pickus) and her husband Aaron Pickus; Christina Marie Salinas, Melissa (Martinez) Cabrera and her husband Israel; followed by his great-grandchildren: Emery Martinez Cabrera, Ezra Cabrera, Liliana Pickus and Emmett Pickus. Bubba also leaves behind his beloved cat Rory.

The family will receive guests from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at Porter Loring Mortuary, 1101 McCullough Ave.
