

He is proceeded in death by his parents, Cyril and Marcella Niehoff; his first wife, Leonor Villereal Niehoff; his nephew, John Niehoff; his niece Kate Niehoff; and Aliana Villarreal.
Bob is survived by his wife, Nancy, and her daughter Hilary Paolantonio, and his two children and their spouses, Maggie Maldonado and her husband Rob, and William Niehoff, and his wife Jeremi. He has five grandchildren, Casey Davidson, Elizabeth Davidson, and Noah Maldonado, the children of Maggie Maldonado, and Eleanor and Everett Niehoff, children of William Niehoff. He has five great-grandchildren.
Bob dedicated over fifty years to education. For more than thirty years, he served North East Independent School District as teacher, coach, counselor, and principal, working at Windcrest Elementary, Nimitz Middle School, Roosevelt High School, and Center School. For more twenty years, he worked in Catholic schools. His career began as a speech and government teacher at Central Catholic High School. He served as principal at St. Anthony Elementary and Middle School, assistant principal at St. Peter Prince of the Apostles, and as a history teacher and coach at St. Anthony Catholic High School.
Bob received awards recognizing his dedication and innovation from both the public and private school systems. He would often say, “You never work a day in your life if you do the thing that you love.” For him, it was teaching. And all those who learned from him, his colleagues, students, parents, friends, and family, carry those lessons with them.
The Rosary will be on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at 7:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home with the public viewing at 6:00 PM.
The funeral Mass will be on Thursday, May 15, 2025 at 10:30 AM at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church. The interment is private.
Following the Mass, a celebration of life will be held at 1:00 PM at the Campanas Amenity Center located at 3650 TPC Parkway, San Antonio, TX.
