Robert Bruce Ripley, Senior: a loved man. He passed on, early Monday morning, November 26, 2012, surrounded by the family that will miss him dearly. Born to Alice Downing and adopted by Lillian Foster and Harold Ripley, Robert grew up in New Hampshire, working diligently from an early age till he later joined the fight during World War II in the service of the United States Army. It was in the military that he met his future wife, Mary M. Ripley, who stole his heart with her spunky strength and kept him at her side for 60 years. In 1953, Robert started his own company, Ripley Construction. He later started his own family raising three children –Robert Bruce Jr., Marc Anthony, and Gigetta Michelle – and together, Robert and Mary spoiled their six grandchildren: Robert, Desiree, Michael, Jazmin, Isabella, and Catherine. He is also survived by brother, William Sears; sister, Sarah Hanson; many nieces and nephews; and countless friends. An infamous flirt, Robert was never afraid of conversation, and he thrived on making a pretty lady smile with a harmless dirty joke. He was a wonderful man who loved his family more than anything. He will be missed for his winks, his laugh, his hugs, his firm hand shakes, his penchant for keeping his desk and personal items in perfect order, his angry snacks, his unique driving habits, his obsession with the thermostat, his random singing with the wrong words, and for taking his kids to school.
