

Bobby met his love, Rosie, on his birthday, when she was 15 and he was 17. They were married on March 23, 1957, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. They were happily married for 66 years. He was a member of the Texas Air National Guard for 19 years, working as an aircraft mechanic. He was a master carpenter by trade and was a member of the Carpenters Local Union 14 for 69.9 years.
He was a parishioner at Holy Family Catholic Church and was an active member of the church community for many years. He served as a past president of the St. Vincent de Paul Society and was a past member of the Holy Name Society. He was also a member of the St. John Bosco Salesian Cooperators.
Bobby loved the San Antonio Spurs, the Dallas Cowboys and more recently UTSA Football. He was the original “girl dad”. He attended every school and sporting event for his three daughters then later in life for his only grandchild, Katie, whom he adored.
He was much loved by his numerous nieces and nephews and especially loved traveling as part of the “Three Amigos” with his niece Patty. He was a hardworking, soft-spoken man and will be very much missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Louis Schilling, Rudy Schilling, Edward Schilling; and sister, Irma Schilling. Robert is survived by his wife, Rosemary Schilling; daughters, Cynthia Schilling, Laura Schilling (Lois), Lisa Schilling; granddaughter, Kathryn Schilling-Ramirez; brother, Roger Schilling (Libby); as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
