Our beloved father, husband and grandfather, Robert Steinfeld, age 88, passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2016. He was born in Brooklyn, New York, which is where he met and married his beloved Ruth, a union that endured for over 50 years.
He began a life-long adventure as an entrepreneur in the import business. He ventured twice a year on buying trips to Asia, visiting Hong Kong, Tokyo, and Taiwan. Being born in Brooklyn, he was a loyal Brooklyn Dodgers fan! He loved the Dodgers so much, he attended a fantasy baseball camp with the old Dodgers players.
In his later years, he truly enjoyed joining his buddies for lunch with the "Romeo Club" to discuss sports and politics. From the age of 13, he played the trombone and picked it up again 40 years later. He was very disciplined about his health, and he would swim every morning at the JCC or the YMCA. He especially cherished his grandchildren, Lindsey and Caroline.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Dan and Jenny Epstein Steinfeld and his beloved wife, Ruth Steinfeld. He is survived by his son, Jack Steinfeld and wife, Melissa; and daughter, Sandra Steinfeld; granddaughters: Lindsey and Caroline Steinfeld; sister, Alice Reiser of Long Island, New York; nieces and nephews; and other extended family members along with numerous wonderful friends and neighbors.
The family would also like to give a special thanks to his caregivers, Mina, Ricardo, JoAnne, and Lidia.
