On January 10, 2021, Roberta Beverly Moldenhauer, our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend to many went home to be with our Lord Jesus Christ and to be reunited with her beloved husband Tom. They were married 58 years, until his passing in 2010. They were completely devoted to one another.
Roberta was born in Racine, WI on May 6, 1931. After marrying Tom, they settled in Melbourne Beach, Fla. where they raised their family. She took great pleasure in her duties of being The Mayor's wife, and her volunteer work The Salvation Army, Brevard Hospital and her Church. They retired in San Antonio. Roberta was strong in her faith and was a devoted member of Faith Presbyterian Church. She was very involved in the Salvation Army her entire life. While living in San Antonio, she was an Auxiliary member and worked on numerous committees including The Angel Tree and "The Shoe In", which provides shoes to school aged children. She was also instrumental in helping raise thousands of dollars for those who were at the lowest point in their lives. Roberta was a proud member of the P.E.O. Chapter EE Philanthropic Organization for Women. She recently became a Golden Girl… 50+ years of membership with the P.E.O.'s.
Roberta was blessed with 3 children: sons, Michael of Guanacaste, Costa Rica, Steve and wife Twila of Melbourne Beach, Fla and daughter Patricia and husband Steven Honigblum of San Antonio. Roberta loved her 3 grandchildren, Cody Cox of San Antonio, Alisa Cox of San Antonio, Caitlyn Moldenhauer of Brooklyn, NY and great granddaughter, Ella. She was preceded in death by her 2 sisters, Margaret and Leone. Roberta is survived by her sister, Paddy and husband Dennis Crowell of Minneapolis, MN. She has a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends all across the country that will cherish all the many happy memories. Many thanks to the staff at Brookdale Senior Living at Hollywood Park where she lived for the last year and to Vitas Hospice for her care the last 3 months of her life.
A private graveside service for family only will be held when she is placed alongside her beloved husband Tom at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. Due to the Covid pandemic, services at Faith Presbyterian Church and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Salvation Army 521 W. Elmira, San Antonio, TX 78212 in honor of Roberta.
