A proud Marine, Beto served his country with honor and bravery. His sense of duty extended beyond his military service, as he dedicated his time to the Sandy Oaks Volunteer Fire Department, providing vital support and protection to his community.
Beto's commitment to helping others continued at the District 5 Senior Center, where he was a cherished member. His presence brought comfort and companionship to many, and he was always willing to lend a hand.
In his free time, Beto found joy in various hobbies. He was a talented woodworker, crafting beautiful pieces. He enjoyed small engine repair and enjoyed the challenge of solitaire. He often shared jokes that brought laughter to those around him.
Beto was preceded in death by his parents, Pedro Cardoza, Sr. and Juanita Cardoza; brothers, Pedro Cardoza, Jr., Guadalupe Villarreal and Jose Villarreal; sisters, Eduviges "Vicky" Alviar and Balvina Vasquez.
He is survived by his loving wife, Elmira Cardoza; daughter, Carolina "Vicky" Gamboa (Benny); sons, Robert C. Cardoza, Jr., Pedro A. Cardoza (Susanna); grandchildren, Edward Rene Garcia, Bryanna A. De La Rosa, Modesty J. Ramirez, Samantha N. Cardoza, Pedro A. Cardoza, Jr., and great-grandson, Ayden O. Garcia as well as numerous family and friends. His family will miss his guidance, humor, and love.

A rosary will occur Tuesday, August 13, 2024 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, 226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, TX 78237. A committal service will occur Wednesday, August 14, 2024 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209. A mass of resurrection will occur Wednesday, August 14, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 1314 Fair Ave #1, #1, San Antonio, TX 78223.
