Robert was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and cousin who left behind a legacy of a strong loving family. Robert loved and accepted everyone who came into his life. He was known for being kind, funny, wise, and a pillar for the Serna family. Robert loved his good ol’ western shows, Houston Astros, Dallas Cowboys, San Antonio Spurs, boxing fights, music, and road trips to the casino.
Those who knew Robert, also knew him as Pee Wee, Sapo, Bobby, Frog/Frogger. If you knew Robert, you knew that he had a big sense of humor. He had a big heart and loved his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren dearly. He enjoyed quality time with family and friends. He also enjoyed playing the daily lotto, YouTubing his favorite music and shows, talking to his cousin David on a daily, and watching sports games on the T.V.
He had a special passion for the game of baseball. He played for many years in multiple city leagues and numerous softball tournaments throughout his life. He taught his children the game to which most of them became ball players themselves. He would even watch televised baseball games anywhere from little league to major league daily.
Robert retired from the City of San Antonio Water System after 30 years of service. As some of you may know, he was a liver transplant recipient of over 20 years. His family would like to encourage the support of organ donation as it extended the life of their beloved Robert for many years.
Robert was a great man who brought joy to those around him with his kindness, jokes, silliness, love, and care. Words could never measure up to the type of person Robert was nor the amount of love he gave. He will always be loved and forever missed.
