

Rocco was a proud WWII Veteran, member of the "Greatest Generation," a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Born in Bristol, PA, to Sicilian immigrants, Salvatore and Mary Manzo, Rocco was a first generation American, and the oldest of three children.
Rocco enlisted in the Army in 1941, and was a member of the 9th Infantry Division. During the war, Rocco was part of many campaigns including North Africa, French Morocco, Europe, and Battle of Monte Cassino. In 1945, he married the love of his life, Rose Marchione, the two enjoyed "all things Italian," dancing, singing, Atlantic City Casinos, family, friends, and especially making pizzelles.
Rocco moved to San Antonio in 2003, after Rose's death. He became an active member at Casa Helotes were he enjoyed cards, pool, and fun with the boys.
Throughout his life Rocco was a devoted Catholic, and made a memorable ACTS Retreat in 2004. Rocco will be remembered for his strong work ethic, strong will, and zest for life.
Rocco is survived by his only child, Rita Graves; four grandchildren, Christe Schrenk, Jaime (Roy) Barrera, Katie (Keith) Scroggins, Michael (Nina) Graves, and 8 great-grandchildren. Along with numerous friends, especially from Golden Estates Nursing Home.
Viewing will begin Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at 6p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Porter Loring on McCullough. Mass of the Resurrection will be at 10:30 a.m. at St. Luke Catholic Church, 4603 Manitou Dr.
Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 2:30 p.m.
