

Rogelio M. Gomez, Sr., age 74, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, January 08, 2023 in Windcrest, Texas. He was born in Cotulla, TX to Ramona (Montez) and Guillermo Gomez. He was in the military and received a badge for being a Sharp Shooter and was also a Platoon Leader. He got hurt in training and was given an honorable discharge. His path led him to St. Mary’s University for 2 years while also working for Red Arrow Freight Lines. He spent many years in the trucking industry. He saw Red Arrow change names to Overnite Transportation and then today as UPS Freight. As his family grew, he would share his love for the trucking industry with his boys. Rogelio was a hard worker and put his family first. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. Rogelio is survived by his loving wife, Maria Elena Gomez; Sons, Rogelio Gomez, Jr. (wife Traci) and Antonio Gomez, Sr. (wife Laura); grandchildren, Ciel Marie Gomez, Grant Alexander Gomez, Jackson Rhys Walker Gomez, Joseph Brendan Perez, and Antonio Efrain Gomez, Jr. Rogelio leaves behind his brothers, Juan Antonio Gomez (wife Laura), Jorge Luis Gomez (wife Elia), and Jose Enrique (wife Melaida).
The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm., February 19th, 2023, at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
