Roger Lopez

Roger Lopez, a beloved husband, father, son, and brother, passed away peacefully in San Antonio, Texas, on May 27, 2024, at the age of 49. Born on March 21, 1975, in San Antonio, Roger lived a life marked by dedication, love, and faith.

In 1993 Roger graduated from Central Catholic High School and went on to attend St. Mary’s University in San Antonio. He used his education to establish his career in new home construction sales. He found immense joy in meeting new people and helping them find their dream homes. His dedication to his work was unmatched. Roger’s resilience and hard work was evident as he continued to provide for his family under all circumstances.

On October 11, 1997, at the age of 22, Roger married the love of his life, Sheila. Their partnership brought him immense joy and fulfillment over their 27 years. Together, they built a beautiful family, raising four wonderful children who were the center of Roger’s world. His life was a testament to his devotion as a husband and father, always prioritizing the needs of his family above his own. Roger was present at every significant moment in his children’s lives, celebrating their achievements, supporting their endeavors, and creating countless cherished memories along the way.

One of Roger's greatest pleasures was sharing meals with family and friends, telling stories, and laughing together. As an enthusiastic cook, he enjoyed discovering and experimenting with new recipes to experience with loved ones. A passionate sports fan, Roger especially loved cheering on his Baylor Bears.

Above all, Roger's love for Jesus defined his life. He was eager to share his testimony and the ways in which God's care had guided him through every challenge. Roger’s faith was a beacon to those around him, and he touched many lives with his story of unwavering trust in God's plan.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Lucy and David Garza; and paternal grandmother, Lorenza Lopez. Roger is survived by his devoted wife, Sheila Lopez; four cherished children, Sophia Celine Lopez, Olivia Claire Lopez, Gavin Cade Lopez, and Talon Connor Lopez; loving parents, Leonard Lopez II and Connie Lopez; and his brother, Leonard Lopez III.
