Roger  will hold a dear place in my heart. I worked with him for 9 years at Lancer. He was a very kind gentleman that was always supportive and a good friend and colleague. May his family be comforted during this time.

My sincere condolences to the Martinez family.  It's not often someone comes into your life and makes an impact like Roger did in such a short period of time.  Roger and I have worked together for the last 4yrs and it was truly a pleasure.

I not only lost a cousin, a big brother as well. Roger, Steve and I, did childhood together. From the time we could walk we were inseparable. Which of course as boys with bikes and an abundance of time, we managed to find ourselves in constant trouble. I must admit growing up with Roger was an adventure, we would hudlle and discuss our excuse, get our story straight if you will in an attemptr to evade the inevitable belt. He was the male version of I love Lucy, Steve and I were Ethel. He could talk us into just about anything. Roger use to say "do it don't be a joto I'll kick your ass", of course we did it, not out of fear, but because we looked up to Roger. However, I would endure a thousand belt whippings, if it would bring you back Roger. I will miss you immensely!

Today’s the day we celebrate you! Thank you for the wonderful life you gave me and my kids!!! This is not goodbye dad, it’s until we meet again! I love you with all my ❤️ !!!

I believe that Uncle Roger will always walk by your side, as an angel of God. We will miss him. He will forever be in our hearts.

Roger was an amazing, funny, smart man with the biggest heart I know. He would do anything for his family! There is so much I could share, but I remember Roger’s stories, and the words that only those that knew him have heard like “bibat”!  One of the fondest memories I have is that Roger’s man cave was an amazing concert venue that he gave me the honor to visit. There was a code you followed to be invited in and to be invited back, and I had some of the greatest times of my life with him in that man cave! Roger introduced me to the greatest guitar players I would have never known about like Stevie Ray Vaughan, and many more! I would think I had him figured out and he would show me newer music I never heard of like Mute Math! Roger found this newer concert that Black Sabbath performed, and I loved the song they did Snowblind, and even though he didn’t like it that much he would let me hear it every time we did concert night. I really think that  I have permanent hearing loss from his amazing set up, but I would give anything to have those nights with him again... Roger loved his family above all and told me stories about this every concert night! My heart goes out to all of you, and he loved you all very much!

Dear Theresa,   My name is Francesco Andreis and I am from Italy. We have never met but I have known Roger since 1994 when I started working with Lancer as a supplier. I am so sad and surprised to know that Roger passed away. Roger was a good man, always fair, hardworker and great to talk to.  I will really miss him. It will be strange not to see him next time I will be in San Antonio.  I would certainly come to the funeral if times were different. Unfortunately things are not great in Italy now due to Covid and travelling is difficult and risky, but  please accept my most sincere and heartfelt condolencies. Uncle Roger it’s still not real...it’s hard to believe I won’t be seeing you again and laughing at your stories.    I wish we could be given one more chance to turn back time.    Mine would be to drive my parents over to your house as often as possible to visit you and Terry because they always had a great time with you all.   I have so many memories of you because you were always there to help my Dad with my constant moving.   You never let him down and always there to help.   You always had some funny experience or joke to tell and just had everybody laughing.   My favorite so far is the “Barbacoa”.    It was funny enough just listening to you go through your order and then impersonating the kid taking your order.  Lol.  Roger you were such a good father, grandfather and husband. I remember my brother as being a great person everytime we bbq'd or had family gatherings we always had a blast.  I remember he always made sure there was plenty of food for 2nds and 3rds he was the life of the party with his jokes.  I also remember my brother's beautiful smile and his big heart he loved his family dearly .  I am going to miss you dearly Roger I love you so much 😥 gone but never ever forgotten 🙏  RIP. Roger and I meet when my brother Lionel and Esther started dating. Roger was on the quite side, but I always remember his smile. Our paths crossed again at Jefferson. You could always tell it was Roger walking the halls, since he was so tall. He would turn around say hi and smile. My heart goes out to Terri who shared many years of her life with her love. God Bless Terri, Melissa, Tiffany and his entire family.

I still can’t believe that my Uncle Roger passed away. He was larger than life, always smiling and genuinely happy when he saw you. You could always count on a big hug and a kiss from him.   My favorite story to tell about him is when we were little, there was a closet door at grandmas house that always got stuck. Roger would lock us in there and we would scream for grandma. She would have to get a knife to jiggle to handle and get us out. Roger would stand there laughing until grandma would chase him with a broom. Out the back door he would go and up the tree in the backyard. Grandma would stand there and yell at him. It was the best..of course it’s funny now, but not so much back then. Roger has been a friend for over 25 years - we worked together at Lancer in the mid-90's and again for the last 3 years.  Roger was a loyal friend and a true professional who took great pride in giving his best at his job.  His office is next to mine and we shared many fond memories - I miss him more than words can say.  His passing has left a hole in the hearts of so many.

Multiple times when Roger and I spoke about leaving this world he will tell me if he goes before I do I better tell people what he did. I worked with Roger for 17 years, he was the best of the best at what he did.  I had the honor of promoting Roger multiple times over the many years we worked together. Sr Commodity Manger, he was a great negotiator, documented savings well over 10 Million the years we worked together.  I know, I’m the one that documented them. He was one of the most business ethical people I have ever known. Never accepted a bride, straight up business. We would laugh at how some suppliers would try to manipulate you into accepting something you shouldn’t in our line of work. He was straight up honest to the core.   I learned a great deal from Roger over my career. Summed up: As a person, loved his family deeply, proud  Husband, Father and Grandfather,  always Crossed himself when an ambulance passed by or we drove by a cemetery.  We had some great times in and out of the office and some Crazy days too. For those that shared the experience it can be summed up in a few words: fart machine! The F word, always there to help, would talk smack and push people to be better at what they do. From begging product development throughout the product life cycle he had a vast amount of knowledge. A walking history book I always consulted with. Roger had a great sense of humor.  We’ve shared many laughs, sometimes so heavy it brought us to tears, I will never forget the influence he held over me, helping mold me during the early days of my career.   You are surely missed. When ever we had a chance to talk it was always about his family . His  face would  lit up when he spoke of his grandson and how much he loved his family.
