Roger was such a caring and giving soul, who pushed everyone to be the best they could be. He was a great big brother to his siblings and was always willing and ready to help them. Whether it was playing videogames or play fighting on the trampoline, Roger cherished every single moment that he got to spend with his brothers. He was very loved and will be missed by everyone whose lives he touched. Roger is now resting eternally with his beautiful grandmother, who he loved so much.
How his dream, Studio AVI came to fruition, (in his own words): while in his early 20s, Roger used to be a backup dancer for many different styles of entertainers across Texas. Traveling to places like Illinois, Oklahoma, Iowa, and Florida, Roger slowly developed a stronger stage presence through music and dance which blossomed into the competitive dance nature he is known for now. Roger understood practice and determination were his own Project to be a better, stronger version of himself. Being onstage with flashing lights, loud music, and explosive choreography was the easiest way for him to get lost in the music and let it rip! Roger had a vision to welcome any age and background to an inclusive and judgment free zone under 3 conditions: you must bring a good ATTITUDE, positive VIBES, and a big IMAGINATION, thus Studio AVI was born.
Roger is survived by parents, Anel & Bobby Cox, Roger S. Mendoza Jr.; siblings, Brandon, Dylan, Dustin; several stepbrothers and stepsisters; grandfather, Mr. Solis, grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Buentello, grandmother, Ms. Soliz; close personal friend, Daniel Arriaga; and extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by grandmother Ms. Solis.
The visitation will be held at Porter Loring Mortuary North, 2102 N Loop 1604 E, San Antonio, TX 78232, on Thursday, July 14, 2022, from 5:00-7:00 pm, with service at 7:00 pm.Interment to follow, in a private ceremony, on a to be determined date.
