MSgt Ronald L. Dieringer, (USAF Ret.), age 74, passed away July 29, 2021 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born January 7, 1947 in San Antonio, Texas to Oscar Dieringer and Nina Quillen Dieringer and grew up in Shamrock, Texas where he played football for Shamrock High School. Ron was extremely patriotic and a Vietnam Veteran who retired from the Air Force with 20 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, reading military history and watching his San Antonio Spurs.
Ron was battling complications from stage four colon cancer and succumbed to aspiration pneumonia while in the hospital. He will be missed but not forgotten.
He was preceded in death by his parents and younger brother Terry. He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Gilda A. Dieringer; step-children Roy Lozano Jr. (Gina), Ron Lozano (Stacey), Erin Jacquez (Chris); grandchildren Travis Lozano (Amanda), Aaron Lozano, Christopher Lozano, Brandon Lozano, Marisa Jacquez, Makayla Jacquez, Mariah Jacquez, Mateo Jacquez, Marco Jacquez; great-granddaughter Emily Rose Lozano; brother, Gary Dieringer (Victoria); sister, Denise Briggs (Troy); and step-mother, Mae Dieringer.
Visitation will be at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, 6321 Bandera Road, San Antonio, Texas on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a rosary at 7:00 P.M. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at St. Luke Catholic Church, 4603 Manitou Drive, San Antonio, Texas with interment to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with U.S. Air Force honors.
