Ronald Edwards

After a 14-year battle with Parkinson's, on Thursday November 10th, 2016, Ronald Edwards, age 71, went peacefully to be with our heavenly Father while surrounded by his loved ones at home. Ron was born in Ardmore, OK on June 24, 1945 to Harrison Berry and Evelyn Sadler Edwards. Shortly after graduating from high school, Ron enlisted in the U.S. Air Force to proudly serve his country in Vietnam. As a veteran, he dedicated his life to serving his local community as a police officer for 27 years, 24 of those years as Chief of Police of Hollywood Park. He and Mary Garcia Edwards were married on November 10th, 1984 at St. Matthew's Catholic Church in San Antonio, TX. Ron was a man passionate about life and even more so when it came to his family and the those in need.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Mary Delrae Edwards Gannon and is survived by his wife of 32 years, Mary Garcia Edwards; his sister, Deborah Sue Edwards Jordan and husband Robert; his son, Ronald Ray Edwards Jr.; his daughter, Kimberly Kay Edwards; his son, Salvador James Edwards and wife Katharine; his daughter, Michelle Renee Edwards Massey and husband Ryan; his daughter Amanda Nicole Edwards and his 8 grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, November 21, 2016 at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
