After graduating from the University of Texas, Ron began a career with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company (now AT&T) in Austin. His career path took him from Austin, to St. Louis, Kansas City, Topeka, and back to St. Louis where he retired. In 1997, Southwestern Bell moved Judy to San Antonio, and Ron was elated to be back in his home state of Texas. He immersed himself with his lifelong hobbies of handball and following the Texas Longhorns. He was a member and Past President of the Founder Lions Club, the oldest Lions Club in the world. Ron served on numerous boards, some of which included the Red Cross, the San Antonio Symphony, and the Low Vision Club of San Antonio. However, his greatest passion was serving on the Board of the Healy-Murphy Center and seeing the fruition of the historic campus renovation.
In 2009, Ron and Judy moved to Canyon Lake where they were able to fulfill their lifelong dream of living on the water. Ron loved the lake, watching the birds and wildlife from his favorite chair, and playing Bridge with his Mystic Shores neighbors and friends at the Sattler Community Center.
