He was born December 25, 1948 in Natchez, Mississippi to Chester and Thelma Owens.
Ronny had been a resident of San Antonio since 1964. He was a 1966 graduate of Highlands High School and a member of Northside Church of Christ. Ronny enjoyed a successful career with Southwestern Bell for 34 years, retiring in 2000.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Mike.
Ronny is survived by his wife of 33 years Merri Lynn; son, Ronald Scott Owens and wife Kimberley; 2 grandchildren, Makena and Reece; brother Kenny Owens and wife Patsy; mother in law, Irene Bowers.
