Rosa Vigueras Benavidez

Ms. Benavidez is preceded in death by her mother Flora L. Garcia; son, Robert Benavidez and husband of 61 years Juventino E. Benavidez, brothers, Alex Vigueras, Benny Vigueras, Ray Garcia; and sister, Connie Fernandez.

She is survived by her son, Juventino “Tino” Benavidez Jr. (Laura); daughters, Diana Benavidez Navarro, Esther Benavidez Martinez (David), Rosalie Benavidez Garcia; grandchildren, Brianna D. Navarro, Michelle L. Usselman; Jaquelyn R. Meza, Melanie M. Garcia, Michael Garcia, Erica Escobedo, Eric Escobedo; great-grand-daughters Jaela Moody, Karsyn Mc Gowan, Elliana Usselman; 1 sister, 3 sister-in-laws, 2 brother-in-laws and other family members.

Ms. Benavidez was a member of Bethany Chapter #912 Order of the Eastern Star and was involved in her children’s fraternal organizations. At times she played the role of Mom and Dad while our father traveled working TDY. She also participated in our schools plays, parties, etc. and Lanier High School Band Booster. She was an energetic and loving mother who was always there for all of us being supportive and an everlasting inspiration in our lives. She will greatly be missed for her sense of humor, funny faces and for all the stories she loved to share about our family and will always hold a special place in our hearts. She brought us up with the utmost care and illuminated our home with her presence and smile. All in all, she was and will be our loving angel and hero. We would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Edgardo Benavides, our family physician for so many years who was always readily available for the care of our mother. Thank you Dr. Benavides.

Visitation services will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Home, 226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, TX 78237 on Tuesday, December 26, 2023 from 4:00pm to 9:00pm with a rosary to be recited at 6:00pm. A service will be held at the funeral home chapel, Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at 11:30am with procession departing to Fort Sam National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach, San Antonio TX 78209.
