Rosa R. De La Garza

Rosa Rodriguez De La Garza, age 73, of San Antonio, died Saturday, October 20, 2012. She was one of 6 daughters to Simon Rodriguez and Concepcion Castillo Rodriguez. Rosa was a devout Roman Catholic and Parishioner at San Fernando Cathedral, prolific volunteer and caregiver who always shared her love and time to those in need. She was highly regarded and respected by all she met in the community. She enjoyed the arts, music, travel, and gardening and encouraged all to pursue their education. Most importantly, she was a very dedicated and loving mother to all her children, grandchildren, and sisters.

Rosa was preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. De La Garza.

She is survived by her children, Rose Marie D. Gamez, Robert Jr. De La Garza, and her twins Ruth D. Bush and Roland De La Garza; sisters, Bertha Rodriguez Lynn, and Alicia Rodriguez Arrozarena; 9 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 13 nephews and nieces; and a few remaining aunts, uncles and cousins. Without a doubt, she is greatly missed.

Visitation will be on Sunday, October 28, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Monday, October 29, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Porter Loring on McCullough.
