Rosalie, a 1967 Lanier High School graduate, was the first in her family to earn a college degree. She attended Texas Women's University on a scholarship, earning a BA in Education in May 1971. She taught English at Brentwood, Cooper, Twain and, Rhodes Junior High Schools and, Edison and Lanier High Schools. When UTSA opened its doors, she went back to college and earned a BBA in Marketing. She then went to work as a Contract Specialist in Logistics at Kelly Air Force Base.
Rosalie was predeceased by her husband, Bradley Howard Birch; her parents; her sister, Sylvia; and brothers, Eloy, Edward and Jacob; and nephew, Michael. She is survived by brothers, Robert, Adolph, Michael, Patrick, Gilbert; sisters, Rose, Gloria, Lynda, Patricia; and 32 nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. Rosalie was especially close to her nephew, Jesse and Goddaughter, Marissa.
Services will be held at Porter Loring Mortuary on Friday, November 3, 2017 at 11 a.m. with interment to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 1:45pm.
