Mable Rose Collins was born August 29, 1945 in Corsicana, Texas to W.M. Murphey and Grace Pearl Alexander-Murphey. She departed her life here on earth to be with the Lord on Sunday July 19th, 2015 at her home in San Antonio Texas, surrounded by family.
Rose's faith in God and acceptance of Jesus as her Lord and Savior was the power to her life. Her friends and family gave her encouragement and enriched the 69 years of her time here on earth. She was a successful business owner, bookkeeper, artist, and she enjoyed singing, dancing, and was quite the dart player. Rose enjoyed spending time at the lake fishing, camping, and relaxing with family and with her beloved dog, "Cassie". She enjoyed family nights of Dominos and sitting around telling stories. Rose had an infectious tenacity for life, enriching the lives of those around her, as they did hers.
If you had the pleasure of being loved by Rose, you were truly blessed. Rose was preceded in death and reunited with her parents, W.M. Murphey and Grace Pearl Alexander-Murphey, her brothers, Billy Murphey, Hamilton Alexander, Paul Alexander, Herman Alexander, her sisters, Marie Osborn, Ruby Yates, Helen Hawkins, Joyce Davidson, and her soul mate Jerry A. Collins.
Her spirit is carried by her beloved children, Stephen A. Collins & wife Bonny, Jim A. Collins & wife Melissa; her grandchildren, Jeremiah A. Collins, Joshuah A. Collins, Brittani N. Collins, Zachery A. Collins, Brandon Collins, and Kimberly N. Collins; her brother, L.W. Murphey; her sisters, Pauline Noble, and Ruth Reynolds; cherished niece, Teresa Ovalle; and many in-laws, nieces, nephews, friends and family too numerous to list but not forgotten.
Rose was a courageous woman through her last year, battling cancer. She endured a lot during her treatments but kept a marvelous attitude towards life. She was surrounded by family and friends during her final hours; she was deeply loved. Her sense of humor is what made time with her so pleasurable. Her kind heart and helpful, generous soul will never be forgotten.
Friends (and strangers she would love to have met), Please join us for the celebration of life at the graveside service at Sunset Memorial Park Saturday, July 25, 2015, at 1 pm. Dress comfortably with a splash of red if you have it, as it was her favorite color.
