

She was born on May 6, 1914, in San Antonio, Texas where she lived her childhood and young adulthood in what was known as "the Italian Colony," a traditionally ethnic neighborhood in which she enjoyed many friends of Lebanese and Hispanic heritage as well as relatives and friends of Italian descent.
Mrs. Loverde was an honorary member of the Rosary and Altar Society of St. Francesco Di Paola Catholic Church located in Piazza Italia in San Antonio. She also attended the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Little Flower when it was known as the Shrine of the Little Flower during the years her daughters attended Little Flower School.
Rose Rosie liked to cook and teach her children how to prepare Italian meals to her family's delight. She enjoyed reading any and all newspapers and kept in touch with friends and family with telephone call or with beautiful and thoughtful cards and messages through the mail.
In addition to her years as a dedicated mother, grandmother, and homemaker, Rose gave over 5, 000 hours of volunteer service as a Santa Rosa Auxiliary Member at the downtown hospital and at Villa Rosa Locations.
Mrs. Loverde is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Loverde, her parents, Michael and Emilia Narciso, her sister, Florence Corbo, and her brothers, Mike, Vince, and Anthony Narciso.
She is survived by her three loving daughters, Judith Loverde of Corpus Christi, TX, Tommye Jean Winkley, and Emily Rose Flores of San Antonio, Texas; by her five grandchildren, Jennifer Claire McCarthy, David Anthony Sandy Winkley, Ethan Alicia Winkley; Eric Thomas Flores, and Elissa Jaclyn Flores; her four great grandchildren, Nicholas Anthony Winkley, Sofia Claire Winkley, David Anthony Winkley, II, and John Francis McCarthy; and by her two sisters, Ms. Frances Narciso and Mrs. Ellen Pantusa, nieces and nephews.
