Rosemarie Aguilar Bernal, age 71, of San Antonio, Texas entered into rest on Saturday, December 31, 2022. Rosie was a loving mother, grandmother, granny, daughter, sister and aunt. Rosie proudly served her community as a longtime Substitute and Teacher Assistant for Life Skills at Edgewood ISD, where she retired. She also taught Catechism (CCD) of the Catholic Church to children of young ages at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church for 30 years. Her favorite pass time was watching old movies, musicals, playing bingo and traveling. Her life was full with her family and was well known for her caring and helpful demeanor. Rosie had a one-of-a-kind spirit. Her love for people she cared about was boundless, and everyone who knew her felt the same way.
Rosie was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Maria Del Carmen Aguilar; husband, Peter Bernal Jr.; many other family members and friends. She is survived by her son, Pete A. Bernal III and wife, Michelle; grandchildren, Ryan and wife Presciliana; Christopher and wife Jailene; and Joshua Bernal; three great grandchildren, Lina Jane (Christopher), Jackson Liborio (Ryan) and Christopher Maverick (Christopher) Bernal; brothers, Ralph and Ricardo Aguilar. She is survived by loving in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and multitude of long-time friends. Rosie loved her family and friends. We shall all carry wonderful memories with us for the rest of our lives.
A visitation will be held on Monday, January 16, 2023 from 5-8pm at Trevino Funeral Home, 2525 Palo Alto Rd, 78211 with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. On Tuesday, January 17, 2023 final viewing will be available until time of procession. Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 10:00 am at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church located at 1214 Stonewall, 78211.
In lieu of sending flowers, the family will be collecting monetary donations in honor of Rosemarie Aguilar Bernal.
Donations will be made on her behalf to the Life Skills Program at Memorial High School in Edgewood ISD and Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church.
