Roslyn Haniel Bell, at the age of 76, was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 25, 2024, in San Antonio, TX. Born on January 1, 1948, in Winston-Salem, NC to parents, Carolyn A. Flynt and James A. Stanford.
Haniel dedicated her time to volunteering, she loved doing that the most. Whether it be in the classroom or sitting in the hallways at school, she enjoyed helping the children to practice their reading skills or spelling words. It was always such a thrill for her to hear about the positive progression of each student she had helped. Haniel had great fun going on class field trips, as the kids always loved it when parents would come along.
She enjoyed her time volunteering with the women of the chapel as social director and later as President. Helping at the School of Hope on the island of Okinawa in the East China Sea was a very meaningful time for her. During her time there she worked with children who had a wide variety of special needs. Haniel always found it very interesting and fun to work with children of all ages from elementary through high school. Two quotes she really loved were: "There are many blessings in volunteering where there are needs." and "There are needs a plenty."
Reading brought her so much joy, especially the true historical love stories of people who had a great place in history making lives better, and sometimes worse, for the people of their communities or countries.
She was a kind, caring, giving, interested mom, and nana. A very generous friend and helper. A thoughtful loving wife and partner.
Roslyn is survived by her children Matthew and Ashley; and her granddaughters Avery and Emery.
