He was born October 21, 1933, in Caledonia, Missouri, as one of eleven children.
Besides fishing, Roy most enjoyed going on road trips with or to visit his family. He loved to tell jokes and was a Wonderful Dad to his four girls. Roy served with the U.S. Army and was a St. Louis Fire Fighter.
Roy was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Huitt, and his siblings, Linus, Tressie, Jesse, and Norma Jean. He is survived by his four daughters and their husbands, Lynne and Bob Dewar, Jade Lindquist and Estes Sher, Lorraine Dailey-Wallace and Ross Wallace, and Kat and Michael Lallo; his 5 grandchildren, Meghan Dailey, Drew and Brooke Eyster, Elissa and Ava Lindquist-Sher; and his siblings, Bernice, Linn, Vernon, Delores, Donald, and Linda.
Roy’s Memorial Service will be held at 9:00 a.m., Friday, August 24 at Sunset Funeral Home. His urn will be transferred to Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery for a 10:30 a.m. ceremony with honors.
