Ruben H. Contreras Sr.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, playing with his great-grandchildren, visiting Kickapoo, and watching boxing, wrestling, football, and basketball with his sons. He also loved to listen to his children and grandchildren sing and watch them dance. He was a very proud father and grandfather and will be greatly missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Vicente and Anita Contreras and his beloved wife of 51 years, Carmen M. Contreras.

He is survived by his children, Ruben Contreras Jr. (Gena Coblentz), Ernesto Contreras (Analidia Perez), Ann Marie Contreras (David Koch), Cynthia Ozuna (Ben Ozuna Jr.); grandchildren, Carmen (Louis), Jovi Lee (Anthony), Ruben (Samantha), Kelsey (Edgar), Benjamin (Unique), Sarah, Cynthia Nicole (Noe), Kayla, Cameron, Linda; great-grandchildren, Kai David, Noe Jr., Grayson, Zoey, Tyler, and Michael.

Siblings, Alicia Diaz, Vicente Contreras, Jr., Delia Mendiola and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday, May 24, 2021 at Trevino Funeral Home, 2525 Palo Alto Rd. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. A Funeral Procession will depart from the funeral home on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. for a 10:30 a.m. Mass of the Resurrection at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church. Interment will follow in First Memorial Park. Services under the direction of Trevino Funeral Home.
