

Ruben Escamilla Jr., passed away on December 20, 2025 , was a beloved son, husband, father, brother, and friend. He was born to Ruben Escamilla Sr. and Gloria Acosta, who instilled in him the values of family, hard work, and dedication that guided him throughout his life.
Ruben was a devoted husband to his loving wife, Alicia Escamilla, and a proud father to his daughters, Roxanne and Mercedes, who were the center of his world; and a loving grandfather to numerous grandchildren. He cherished his role as a father and leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and guidance that will live on through them. Ruben was also a caring brother to Linda Cantu and Alma Escamilla, and a treasured uncle and cousin to many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will deeply miss him.
Ruben earned his associate’s degree and honorably served in the United States Military, demonstrating his commitment to service and country. In his free time, Ruben found joy in simple pleasures, especially visiting garage sales and flea markets, where he loved discovering hidden treasures and sharing stories of his finds with family and friends.
Ruben Escamilla Jr. will be remembered for his kind heart, quiet strength, and the love he gave so freely to those around him. He will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
A Committal Service with Military Honors will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at 10:45 a.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Road, San Antonio, TX 78209. Guests are kindly asked to arrive at least 15 minutes early to allow the military honors to be conducted promptly.
