

Rudy A. Dodier passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 23, 2024, in San Antonio, TX, a the age of 77, surrounded by family and friends. Born on January 15, 1947, to Rodolfo and Muriel Dofier, who preceded him in death, Rudy's life was a testament to love, laughter, and service.
A devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Rudy is survived by his beloved wife, Sandra; his cherished children, Michael Roberts and wife Tamiko, Rudy Dodier, and Stefanie Hilburn and husband John; and his treasured grandchildren, Hunter Roberts, Joshua Hilburn, Charlotte Dodier, and Jesse Hilburn. He is also survived by his siblings, Rose Reygadas and husband Tom, Michelle, Dodier, Victor, Dodier and wife Nikki, his lifelong friend Frank Fernandez and wife Margie, his Dirt-biking Crew and many more dear friends and family who loved him deeply.
Rudy attended Christ the King, Jefferson High, amd The University of Texas at Austin, where he cultivated his love for learning and curiosity about the world. His career as a medical technologist and biochemist reflected his deep desired to help others. From co-developing a lipoprotein blood test to ensuring quality control in labs across San Antonio and surrounding counties. Rudy's work in the medical field saved lives and brought comfort to countless families. At the pinnacle of his career he oversaw laboratories with INOVA and later expanded his knowledge into the business world as a dental broker and loan officer. His world ethic and passion for helping others were unmatched.
Rudy's passion extended far beyond his professional life. He had a deep love for the outdoors, traveling, woodworking, sports, photography, and his yearly dirt biking trips to Colorado with his closest friends. A proud member of the Pushrod Club and owner of a 1940 Ford truck, Rudy cherished the camaraderie and joy these adventures brought with him. Above all, Rudy was devoted to making people laugh- whether through a well-timed joke or not so well-timed joke he brought lightness to even the hardest days. He believed that laughter was a gift and he shared it generously, often when it was needed most.
A man of deep faith, Rudy lived his life with unwavering trust in God. He taught those around him the importance of humility, hard work, and love through action. He was a steady anchor to his family and a constant source of wisdom and support. To him, love meant showing up- for his family, his friends, and even strangers in need. He believed in giving his best to others and finding the lesson in every experience, good or bad.
Rudy's love, laughter, and legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His family and friends will carry forward the joy, resilience and kindness he exemplified every day.
You will be deeply missed, but the laughter, love, and light you brought to this world will never be forgotten.
