

Rufino Q. Flores passed away Thursday, January 12, 2023. Rufino was born August 26, 1925 to Gregorio and Adelaida (Quintanilla) Flores. He was born in San Diego, Texas. He was an educated man learning skills at Durham College. Rufino served in WWII and Korea. He was relieved from assignment as a Master Sergeant, 149th Camron TXANG, Kelly AFB and honorably discharged from the TXSANG as a reserve of the Air Force effective December 3rd, 1982. He worked as a civil servant at Kelly Air Force Base as a structural superintendent and later retired following 43 years of service.
Rufino enjoyed life. He frequently visited the Bob Ross Senior Center and enjoyed bingo and visiting with friends. Rufino also enjoyed fishing and hunting and going to the Coushatta, Kickapoo, and Las Vegas casinos. He was also an avid Dallas Cowboy fan.
Rufino was an intelligent man, devoted husband, father, grandfather, and uncle. He loved coaching baseball and getting together after the ball games. He was a great handyman and had excellent building skills often sharing his experiences and thoughts with his family and friends.
Rufino is predeceased by his parents: Gregorio and Adelaida, his wife Petra, wife Victoria; sons Mario, Robert, Ruben, and daughter Anna. Seven siblings: George, Cruz, Enriqueta, Dolores, Ray, Frank, and Fred.
Rufino is survived by his wife Consuelo; stepdaughters: Sylvia (husband Peter) Vargas, Sandra (husband Ignacio) Martinez, Nancy (husband Ron) Carreon and stepson Edward (wife Sandra) Guzman. Sons: Oscar (wife Margaret) and Richard (wife Mary "Nena"). Fifteen grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
