November 27, 1953- April 5, 2015
Ruth Ann Flores, born November 27, 1953, passed away quietly and unexpectedly in her home Easter Sunday, April 5, 2015. Ruth Ann was a 1972 graduate of Providence High School, a member of the American Association of Radiological Technologists, the Texas Society of Radiological Technologists, and a lifetime member of the Catholic Church and supporter of Catholic education. Family, friends and co-workers remember Ruth Ann as a loving, hardworking person with a no-nonsense but gentle style when meeting a challenge or when asked for help. Devoted to family, Ruth Ann placed her career on hold to care for our mother Porfiria until her passing in 1999, and then worked tirelessly to complete all that was required to return to work with South Texas Radiology (STRIC) of San Antonio. Ruth Ann was an active parishioner at St. Henry Catholic Church and St. James the Apostle Catholic Church. She taught CCD for many years and served as a lector, Eucharistic Minister, and was an active member of the St. James Parish Council. She loved to sing and took great joy in reading and sharing her love of both with family and friends. She was always available to our family no matter the need or circumstance and loved her nieces and nephews as if they were her own. She will be missed by everyone that knew her especially her Balleza and Flores families.
Ruth Ann was preceded in death by her mother Porfiria, father Fidel, and sisters Norma and Rosemary.
She is survived by her siblings Michael (Shannon), John (Jeanne), Margaret Garcia (Tim), and James. Her nieces and nephews, Vanessa Hack (Eric), Janine Dupre-Truax (Nick), Jessica Kauffeld (Kiel), Adriana, Nicholas and Clarissa Garcia, Patrick Flores and by her great-nieces and nephews Gabriel and Ramona Hack and Miley, Emelyn and Karter Kauffeld.
Visitation will be on Thursday, April 9, 2015 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Porter Loring on McCullough.
