As a young teen, along with her father and siblings, the family moved from Sabinal to San Antonio, Texas where they planted their roots. Years later she fell in love with Gilbert Quinones. The two married and began a family. Ruth gave birth to 4 children, Gilbert, John Henry, David and Elizabeth. She was a devoted military wife and mother. She cared greatly for the family she created until her last breath.
After the passing of her husband Gilbert Quinones, Ruth knew she still had love to give and went on to marry Severino (Nino) Iruegas. Together they lived a beautiful life. Nino embraced the life and family that Ruth had created. Ruth was forever grateful for the love and life Nino provided. Due to Nino's service in the military, Ruth became an active member of the VFW where she made long lasting friendships and compantionships.
