Cody Dean Castaneda
April 25, 1993 - June 28, 2016
Our loving children, who were our sons, husbands, fathers and friends to many, Ryan Tyler and Cody Dean Castaneda passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 2016. They leave a void in the hearts of their beloved parents, Mark Castaneda, and Michelle Smith (Paul), and their families.
RYAN TYLER CASTANEDA is survived by his beloved wife, Felicia Castaneda; their children, Sofia and Baby Castaneda; paternal grandparents, Gilbert and Gloria Castaneda; maternal grandparents, Gilberto Charles Romo, and Edelmira Garza; and god parents, Rosemary and Luis Esteban Gutierrez.
Ryan was a loving son who took on adult responsibilities at a very young age. He helped guide his siblings and mold them into the individuals they have become. As direct as he could be at times, his siblings knew it was all done out of love because he had their best interest at heart. Ryan's smile lit up a room and for that he will always be remembered.
Ryan was very active in sports his entire life, playing both baseball, and basketball. He participated in the Morton Ranch High School baseball, and was very proud to have been associated with a traveling baseball team known as the Texas Fury Baseball Team.
CODY DEAN CASTANEDA is survived by his beloved wife, Amy Castaneda and their son, the love of his life, Cody Lee Castaneda Jr.; god parents, Nina Castaneda, and Richard Castaneda. Like his brother Ryan, Cody loved sports and was active in wrestling at Morton Ranch High School. Cody had a very creative mind, had a passion for art and cartoons. He would doodle and draw funny caricatures that would put a smile on everyone's face.
Cody was kind, giving, nurturing, and very easygoing. He was his families' champion, a self-sacrificing brother, friend, and confidant. Cody would go above and beyond to show everyone in his life how much he loved and cared for them.
Both leave behind their siblings, Kaylee Dakota Castaneda, and Hunter Ryleigh Castaneda; step-siblings: Sidnie Smith, and Lagen Smith; nieces and nephews: Isabella Celeste Mendoza, and Kasen Smith along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and countless, wonderful friends, and neighbors.
Ryan, and Cody were our sons; brothers to each other and their sisters; husbands to their wives; fathers to their children; and loyal friends. Both placed their family, above all else in their lives, and that love will be deeply missed, leaving us filled with anguish, and grief over lives cut so short.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 4th from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM in the chapel at Porter Loring on McCullough with recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 PM.
On Tuesday, July 5th a procession will depart Porter Loring chapel at 11:15 am for a Mass of the Resurrection at St. John Berchman's Catholic Church, 1147 Cupples Road followed by interment in San Fernando Cemetery II.
