Sabas G. Escobar Jr.

Sabas G. Escobar Jr., age 89, born September 8, 1932, passed away on January 26, 2022. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 64 years, Isabel Escobar; parents: Sabas Sr and Margarita Escobar and sons, Richard Escobar and David M. Escobar.

Mr. Escobar is survived by his children: Gilbert M. & Martha G. Escobar, and Diana & Joseph Martinez Jr.; grandchildren: Gilbert M. Escobar Jr., Christopher Escobar, Amanda Hill (Nathan), Vanessa Escobar, Richard M. Escobar Jr, Joseph N. Martinez III; great grandson, Joel G. Escobar; as well as numerous extended relatives and friends.

He proudly served his country in the US Air Force. He was employed and retired from Kelly Air Force base and a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 399. He was an avid fan of the San Antonio Spurs and the Dallas Cowboys. Most of all, he loved spending time barbequing with his family.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. rosary to be recited at Trevino Funeral Home. Funeral procession will depart at 8:15 a.m. on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 for a 9:00 a.m. Mass of Resurrection to be celebrated at St. Joseph's (South San ) Catholic Church with interment to follow in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 11:00 a.m.
