Sally Raczka Anes

Sally was born on April 26, 1951, in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, to Emil and Aline Raczka. She graduated from Adams High School and Williams College.

She is reunited in heaven with her parents, Emil and Aline. She is loved and will be greatly missed by her husband of 44 years, Dr. John C. Anes, and her four children: Emily Anes Simmons (husband Michael), Alyssa Anes Shaw (husband Daniel), Christopher John Anes (girlfriend Isabella Almaleh), and Madeline Alexandra Anes (boyfriend Bryan Hagen). She was blessed with five grandchildren and three step-grandchildren: Zachary, Emily, Victoria, Evan and Sydney Simmons, Payson, Nolan and Nathaniel Shaw.

Sally loved to travel with her husband, John. After a successful career as an English teacher in Liverpool, New York, and San Antonio, Texas, she became a travel agent and they visited many countries around the world.

Sally enjoyed reading, cooking, being a grandmother, and spending time with her friends and her two dogs, Roscoe and Kay.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 16, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Porter Loring on McCullough with a service to follow in the chapel at 7:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Life Raft Group (LRG), which provides support, information and assistance to patients and families with Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumor cancer (GIST).
