She traveled the world with her husband, Hal, as he served in the USAF for 21 years. Upon his retirement they lived in Austin, TX, for 28 years. As an x-ray technologist, specializing in Mammography, Sally Jo was able to help countless patients by employing her compassion in helping them through a difficult time.
She was also active in her community and church, serving as both a Deacon and Elder. When Sally Jo and Hal decided to finally retire, they moved to Air Force Village in August of 2011. She immediately started making new friends by becoming active in the Village community.
Sally was in club activities, became a member of several committees, and was truly enjoying her retirement.
In her younger years she was a Girl Scout Leader.
Sally Jo was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Her favorite pastimes were traveling, making friends, sewing, taking pictures, and reading. Sally Jo's greatest love was her family.
People were always impressed by her winning smile and her wonderfully giving ways. She will be sorely missed by her family and her many friends all across the country.
Sally is survived by her husband of 48 years, Hal Elliott; four children, Bruce, Mark, Jeff and Jennifer; eight grandchildren; two sisters and one brother.
