

Sally is survived by her sisters Agnes Verhalen and Patricia Denk (Hank), her daughters Jenny Leininger (David), Cathi Murphey Half (Herb), Carolyn Bearfield (Mark), four grandchildren Lindsey Leininger (Brian Melzer), Peter Leininger (Kit), Stewart Cleaver and Grace Cleaver, two great grandchildren Jack Leininger and Max Melzer, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Sally is preceded in death by her husband Col. James A. Murphey, Jr., parents Charles and Marie Mulholland, brothers Fr. Charles Mulholland and John Mulholland, children James, Michael, and Patricia Murphey.
Sally graduated from St. Paul’s School of Nursing. Sally and Jimmy were married on March 29, 1948 and she was a career military wife for 27 years. They traveled all over the world, made many close friends and settled in San Antonio in 1975. Sally was an avid bridge player, who loved reading, crocheting and was active in the parish at St. Pius X for many years. Sally had many accomplishments, but her favorite role in life was being a good mother and grandmother.
Visitation will be 3-5 p.m., Sunday, July 20, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home. Funeral Rosary and Mass will be 9:30 a.m., Monday, July 21, 2014 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3303 Urban Crest, San Antonio, TX 78209. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
