Joseph Salomon Garcia passed away Sunday, January 13, 2008 at the age of 88.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Frances Garcia; daughters, Doralee Castillo and Patricia Frederick; 3 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.
Salo served in the Navy aboard the carrier Bunker Hill during World War II, surviving a devastating attack that crippled the ship.
He worked for the San Antonio Express News after the war, and later had a career in service stations with Sigmor Shamrock TETCO. The family wishes to thank the staffs of Trisun Health Care Center Wurzbach and Vitas Hospice for their loving care.
