Sam served in the Navy in WW II and the Korean War.
He retired from City Public Service in 1979 after 31 years. He was a member of Highland Park Presbyterian Church for 50 years and Stone Oak Presbyterian Church since 2000.
Sam was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Dorothy Lee Jeffries.
He is survived by his sons, Tommy Jeffries and wife Debbie, Samuel E. Jeffries and wife Tere; grandchildren David, Donald, and Jeffrey Jeffries, Donald Bean, Michelle del Carpio, Cassie and Stephanie Jeffries; sister Virginia Shelton of Salem, Missouri; also 7 great grandchildren, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Admiral Nimitz Foundation 328 E. Main Street, Fredericksburg, TX 78264.
