Sandra Anne Pearce

Sandra Anne (Root) Pearce passed peacefully into heaven on Thursday, November 11, 2021. She was born in Helena, Montana, on July 10, 1942, to parents Thomas and Lucille Root. Sandra attended St. Francis de Sales High School in Denver, Colorado, graduating in 1960. In 1963 she graduated from Saint Josephs Hospital School of Nursing in Denver, Colorado, where she obtained her Registered Nurse Degree. After graduating from nursing school, she moved to Dallas and began her nursing career at Baylor Hospital. While living in Dallas, she met and married the love of her life William Francis Leroy Pearce, Jr. (Roy). Following Roys work, they moved to California and then to San Antonio in 1970. They were married for 55 years.

For years, Sandra was happy to work beside Roy helping him run a food brokerage company and their storage business and Uhaul dealership. Also, Sandra liked making and teaching ceramics. She also loved bowling with her friends and loved watching the San Antonio Spurs. Additionally, Sandra enjoyed traveling with her family in their motor home. They made many trips to visit family in Montana and New Jersey and were proud that they visited all 50 states. A devout Catholic, Sandra was a founding member of St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church and also was a teacher for CCD.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kelly Pearce; her parents Thomas and Lucille Root; and her brother Thomas (John) Root. She is survived by her husband William Francis Leroy Pearce, Jr. (Roy); her children, Lisa Reasor (Matt), Bill Pearce (Summer) and Bryan Pearce (Ashley); grandchildren, Leslie Salge (Hunter), Jennifer Lindsey (Meredith), Katie Vasquez, Brandon Reasor (Courtney), Ashlie Reasor, Roy Pearce, Gavin Pearce, Kiernan Pearce, McCoy Pearce, Jillian Pearce, Rocco Pearce, Hadleigh Pearce, Channing Pearce; great-grandchildren, Grace Salge, Casen Salge, Rogan Lindsey and Lilyana Vasquez; her sisters, Jennifer Ethridge (Alvin) and Colleen Tope (Donnie) and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Sandra was a loving and devoted wife, a wonderful mother, and delightful grandmother who will be missed by all.

The visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00p.m. on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church in San Antonio, Texas. A rosary will follow at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 24 at St. Marks the Evangelist Catholic Church, 1602 Thousand Oaks, San Antonio, Texas 78232. Sandra will be laid to rest in a private ceremony with her immediate family at the Cordi Marian Sisters Resurrection Cemetery, 11624 Culebra, San Antonio, Texas 78253.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to The Society of St. Vincent de Paul at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church.
